Brenda Rivera, WHNP

We are so excited to announce that Brenda Rivera, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, will be joining Virginia Beach Obstetrics & Gynecology, effective November 4, 2024.

Brenda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Norfolk State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She is board-certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Commission.

Brenda brings over 30 years of women’s health experience to the practice, having worked at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital as a mother/baby nurse on the postpartum floor before becoming a nurse practitioner in 2010. Since 2010, she has worked in a few local ob/gyn practices as well as a gynecologic oncology practice. In that time, she has helped women through all stages of life. Her ability to identify with and listen to patients makes her a compassionate provider of quality care that addresses mind, body, and soul. Brenda will join our obstetrical care team and also perform gynecologic care including annual exams, IUD and Nexplanon insertions, colposcopy, endometrial biopsies, and other minor office procedures.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Brenda grew up in Manhattan and moved to Hampton Roads 35 years ago. She loves living in Virginia Beach, close to her adult children and grandchildren. Brenda inherited her passion for women’s health from her mother who was a labor and delivery nurse for over 40 years. In her free time, Brenda can be found spending time with family and her three Yorkies, on the beach with the latest best-selling novel, or involved in her latest craft project.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Brenda Rivera, WHNP!
