Congratulations to Dr. Lisbet Hanson!
She is the 2013 John Krueger Lectureship Physician of the Year!
Dr. John Jay Krueger was a prominent Virginia Beach physician and community leader for 32 years before his death in 1996. As a pathologist, he organized and directed the laboratory, and served as president of the Virginia Beach General Medical Staff and head of the hospital’s credentials committee. He served as assistant medical examiner for the Commonwealth, and was an associate professor of pathology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
His many community activities included being appointed by the Governor to two terms on the Virginia State Board of Health, serving as a delegate to the Medical Society of Virginia, serving with the Virginia Beach Foundation, the Virginia Science Museum, and the Virginia Beach Crime Solvers. Dr. John J. Krueger was a widely admired and respected physician, who left an enviable legacy of professional accomplishment and dedication to his profession and his community.
The John J. Krueger Foundation continues to promote the ideals that were so clearly evident in the life of Dr. Krueger, and this award is given annually to honor a physician whose contribution to medicine and their community parallels that exemplified by Dr. Krueger.
This is a great honor for Dr. Hanson to have been chosen for this honor by her peers, and we are very proud of her!
Please join us in congratulating her.
