Gretchen Timmons, LPTA

Gretchen Timmons, LPTA is a licensed physical therapy assistant who joins Virginia Beach OB/GYN’s physical therapy team in July 2024.

After graduating with a Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina, Gretchen was a teacher who followed her military spouse all over the US.  Moving every two years, allowed her to specialize in group fitness instructing, personal training and eventually opening a group exercise/training small business.  Years of experience helping clients change their lives with personalized programs, ultimately led to her interest in physical therapy.

Settling in Norfolk, VA, Gretchen graduated from Tidewater Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program.   After working with orthopedic and rehab patients, she took the opportunity to pursue pelvic floor therapy. Here she discovered that pelvic floor dysfunction results in symptoms that commonly go untreated.  She has a passion to help resolve these issues.  She believes that knowledge is power and educating women about their bodies and how they can function optimally is a core belief. She offers treatments for pre and post-partum patients, pelvic organ prolapse, bladder concerns, bowel concerns, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction.

Gretchen is married with two college aged children.  She enjoys playing beach volleyball,  working out, and cheering on ODU.
