It is with a mixture of sadness and joy that I announce my retirement from the practice of medicine, as of January 1, 2022. While I am looking forward to having the opportunity to spend more time with my wife, children, grandchildren, and to travel and pursue other interests, I will miss the challenges and rewards of medicine. It has been a pleasure and a great privilege to provide care for all of you over the years. I know that some of you have been with me since the very beginning and many others have joined the practice over the past 50 years. I will miss these relationships and being there to care for your needs.
I hope that going forward you will continue to seek medical care with Drs. Hanson, Burns, Pyle, Talreja-Pelaez, Kwan, Goldstein, Kotsko, Randolph, Manouilov, and Nugent. Please come in and meet Dr. Alexandra Matthews who joined our practice on September 1, 2021. All of them are exceedingly knowledgeable and compassionate and I am sure they can provide you with the same level of care and service that you are used to receiving. Your records will remain with Virginia Beach Obstetrics & Gynecology. If for some reason, you wish to transfer your care elsewhere, your records will be available to you upon written request.
Thank you again for allowing me to serve your medical needs and be part of you and your family’s lives over the years. You have helped me have a wonderful and rewarding career to look back on as I look forward to the future. I wish all of you good health, happiness, and good fortune.
William L. Martin, M.D.
